Bruno Cornec
Biography
Bruno Cornec has been managing various Unix systems since 1987 and Linux since 1993 (0.99pl14). Bruno first worked 8 years around Software Engineering and Configuration Management Systems in Unix environments. Since 1995, he is Open Source and Linux (OSL) Technology Architect and Evangelist, initially for an HP reseller and now for Hewlett Packard directly in the HP/Intel Solution Center. Bruno is also HP OSL Profession Lead for EMEA and OSL Advocate. Bruno is a contributor in various OSL projects: MondoRescue, Mandriva, LinuxCOE, Tellico, FOSSology, Fedora, rinse, collectl, Pause. He is also project leader for MondoRescue (GPL disaster recovery solution), project-builder.org (GPL build service). As part of his work he has made numerous presentations for Solution Linux in France, Libre Software Meeting, NordU, Linux World UK, Linux Expo Milano, Linux.Conf.au, OSCON, Linux Symposium, Fosdem around various topics (High Availability, Deployment solutions, System management, Disaster Recovery...) Outside computers, Bruno also likes early music, singing and playing the recorder.

The goal of this round table is to share the latest news in the area of Open Source Governance. Topics covered will include:
- Status on SPDX, LSB
- licenses (e.g: analysis, new comers, usage example)
- tools (e.g: license analysis, software evaluation, reference web sites),
- best governance practices (e.g: customer return of experience, distribution adoption of tags, portability)
Audience is made of everybody in charge of stuying the introduction of best industry practices on Open Source management in their organization, companies looking for license adoption, developers wanting to improve their understanding of legal aspects on their work, users looking for tools suited to help them dealing with license.
By sharing industry best practices coming from experienced representatives, this round table aims at improving licenses understanding by the Open Source community, and the knowledge of the various tools and standards that can be used today to strengthen an Open Source Policy.
Collaboration to extend OpenStack: HP and Objectif Libre team up to improve OpenStack
Track: When Open Source Fosters Open Innovation
ObjectifLibre, an HP partner wanted to propose an entry level solution for RFQs using OpenStack and entry levelservers, storage and network equipment. However, HP didn't had support for Cinder for this entry level storage system.
But this is OPen Source, isn't it ? So ObjectifLibre decided to contribute to OpenStack by bringing that support based on what was available for high-end 3PAR storage systems.
This presentation will explain that collaboration between a french SME and the largest IT corporation, how OWF was key in the first meeting between partners, what setup was put in place to solve the issue encountered, the results obtained and the future steps that are now considered.
